Home of the VSO

This is the home of the VSO, the Orpheum Theatre. I was there on this past Friday night for Mozart's Birthday!

The theatre is pretty amazing inside, very ornate. It was originally opened in 1927 as a vaudeville house! The City of Vancouver bought it in 1974 and it reopened in 1977 after being completely renovated inside.

I love the ceiling!!!! All these pictures are just in the lobby areas, I didn't take any inside. At least this time!

If you can see the chandeliar, there are at least a handful of them!

This is from one of the upper balcony areas (well, you walk up another flight of stairs for the upper balcony) It looks right down to the bottom floor where you enter for the orchestra seating (which is where I usually sit!!! Of course the best!)

Close up of one of the many chandeliers in the Orpheum.

This hallway leads to one of the entrances (from Granville Street)
